- Rigid motor vehicles with a GVM of more than 8 tonnes
- Any towed trailer must not weigh more than 9 tonnes GVM
One of the most common reasons for obtaining an MR licence is to become a bus driver, courier or medium haulage driver.
REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN MR LICENCE
- You must have held a class C licence for at least 1 year. Learner licence does not count, but any time you spent holding a P1 licence does. However, you cannot practice driving an MR vehicle or upgrade to the MR licence until you hold a P2 or full class C licence.
- Pass the RMS MR knowledge test
- Pass an RMS eyesight test
If you have satisfied the above criteria, you are ready to begin the training and assessment process with GRU Driving School.
